YellBox FAQ
What is YellBox?
YellBox is a service that lets visitors leave you messages on your website, forum or blog.
Is it really free?
Yes, the free version of YellBox is. Its features are more limited
compared to the Enhanced package but it is completely free.
Is it hard to set up?
If you've set up a website then you should be able to do this too.
All you need do is include the piece of HTML code we give you in
your page and we will take care of the rest.
What are the steps to set up a YellBox?
- Sign up for a free account.
- Activate your account by clicking the link in the email you receive.
- Log in at www.yellbox.com
- Click the 'Get HTML' button and copy the code provided.
- Paste this code into your page where you want your YellBox to appear.
I never got my activation email, can you help?
Sometimes the email gets lost. Get in touch here with your YellBox username and I will activate the account for you.
Can I change the colors of my YellBox?
Yes, you can change the colors and text styles by clicking the 'Box Setup' button
when you log in at www.yellbox.com. Be sure to save any changes you make by clicking the Save button.
Is it possible to change the size of my YellBox?
Yes, by making a small change to the HTML code we give you:
Changing the width: The first line of your code reads "width: 160px", change the number. The higher the number you choose, the wider the box will be.
Changing the height: Locate the part of the code which reads "height="170"", change the number. The higher the number you choose, the taller the box will be.
*NOTE - you can also set "width: 100%" to have it fill the whole width of the page.
How do I add a YellBox to my forum?
- In your Admin Control Panel, create a new forum for your box, paste the YellBox HTML code into that forum's description.
- You should then also set the forum to "locked."
- All done, go to your forum and refresh the page to see your new YellBox!
Why are there Delete and Ban buttons on my YellBox?
These are only visible to you as admin of your YellBox. They're a handy way of deleting posts & banning users without needing to log in to your yellbox.com members area.
Can I ban whole ranges of IP addresses?
Yes, if you leave out the last number(s) it will ban the range. For example, if you enter 100.100.100. then all IP addresses in the range 100.100.100.0 - 100.100.100.255 will be banned.

How do I use my CSS file to control how my YellBox looks?
YellBox uses 2 tables that hold the messages, the classes for these are yb_table1 and yb_table2.
